Queerthentic
Queerthenic is a Regional LGBTQIA+ Art Prize that reveals authentic stories from regional LGBTQIA+ artists; from the mundane to our fabulous culture, or the influence of queer history on the past, present, and future.

Queerthentic - Adjective [kweer-THEN-tik]
1. A state of being whereby you embrace your place within the LGBTQIA+ or gender-diverse community.
2. Living in an authentic and genuine manner, true to your own feelings, beliefs, and experiences with a sense of empowerment, self-acceptance, and living without the constraints of societal norms or expectations. 

Exhibition runs from January 25th - February 12th 2024

Prizes:
Winner - $1,000 Cash + Solo Exhibition at The Old Auction House (Valued at $380)
Runner Up - $500 Cash
People's Choice - $500 Cash
Prizes will be announced at the Victoria's Pride Celebration at The Old Auction House on February 3rd and are non-acquisitive.

Cost:
$15 per entry
You will be sent an invoice from Macedon Ranges Accessible Arts Inc after submission.

Dates:
Works must be Received no later than Friday 19th of January
Delivery Address - The Old Auction House, 52-56 Mollison St Kyneton, Vic 3444
Works can be posted/couriered or delivered in person between 9am - 5pm Weekdays and 10am - 4pm Weekends between January 2nd and Friday 19th of January.

Details:
  • Open to all of the LGBTQIA+ community in Victoria.
    - Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexuals, and spectrum
  • Pieces can be from any physical medium, framed or unframed, 2D or 3D.
    - Maximum dimensions 1500mm x 1500mm or 75cm3 and must weigh <5kg
  • The gallery reserves the right to not hang works of an obscene nature, copyright or that include hate speech at it's discretion. If you are unsure please contact to discuss your works.
  • Works will be judged by a panel of judges based on merit as well as on relevance to the theme
  • Winner, Runner Up and People's Choice will all be retained until the end of March 2024 for further display in region.
Queerthentic has been organised through Macedon Ranges Accessible Arts Inc and supported through Victoria’s Pride, a partnership between the Victorian Government and Midsumma as well as our sponsors.
