Employee well-being has taken on added urgency in recent
years with the growing awareness of the physical, mental and emotional
challenges faced by frontline hospitality workers. The pandemic increased the
level of job stress experienced by hospitality workers, causing many to leave
the industry or choose other career paths in pursuit of better work-life
balance. Many hospitality managers are
prioritizing employee health and well-being in the hopes of attracting and
retaining the talent needed to propel the industry forward.
Kendall College is conducting research on how hospitality
managers are addressing employee health and well-being in the workplace and the
impact of these efforts on employee recruitment and retention with the goal of
informing the industry of emerging best practices and related workforce
development trends.
