Thank you for supporting your student's application to the Keck Geology Consortium 2021 REU program.

This form is used to 1) recommend a student for a Keck Geology Consortium research project and/or 2) indicate agreement to serve as the student's on-campus MENTOR (for students on Gateway projects) or RESEARCH ADVISOR (for students on Advanced projects). Several questions require a response (indicated with a red asterisk) before you can submit; your responses will only be saved once you click submit.  After submitting, you should receive an email message confirming your submission, and a link to return to the form to make further revisions if needed.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN, you will need a copy of the student's application materials and transcript; the student should have forwarded these to you after submitting their application.

If you agreed to serve as the student applicant's on-campus MENTOR (for Gateway students) RESEARCH ADVISOR (for Advanced Students), you will be asked  1) to certify your willingness to serve in that capacity, and 2) that you understand the responsibilities of the mentor/advisor role.  Research Advisors of advanced students will also be asked to provide the name(s) of alternate research advisors at your institution if the student is selected onto their second or third choice project.
