Middle School Courses - Grade 4              2022-2023
At JCDC we believe in giving equal opportunity to our students and to help them discover and develop their talent to its maximum potential. Students benefit from being exposed to a variety of different dance genres being offered which vary from Ballet to Modern, Tap, Spanish and Contemporary.

This enables students to become more versatile dancers and it allows them to find the genre that best suits their potential, preferences and  individual personality. For this reason, we have invested a lot of time and effort to design our calendar and come up with attractive timings and packages that will help you to choose more than one genre for your child when possible. We have done our utmost to allocate classes on the same day so that students will be able to attend lessons back to back between two to four days a week (depending on the age). Packages being offered vary from 4 to 12 hours on a weekly basis. The school has been established for the last 28 years and we can pride ourselves of many talented students who after training with us have succeeded in making a career out of their dancing.

The Conservatoire's packages from Gr 1 to Gr 6 include all the dance genres taught at JCDC so as to enable the students to get an understanding of all these disciplines whilst also being given the opportunity to take annually accredited examinations from Level 1 to Level 3 of the MQF/EQF. Before students progress to the senior levels they will be able to choose the dance genres that they prefer and that suit them best and proceed to the higher levels where they can specialize in these disciplines.

Classical ballet training is an essential base to all dance pedagogy and we feel it is important for all students to get this knowledge throughout their initial years of training. Students will be able to opt for classical ballet classes alone or choose a secondary genre at a rate of €7.50 per hour. Alternatively students may choose the full programme which will enable them to train in all disciplines at a reduced rate of €6.50 per hour. Students choosing the full packages should benefit from attending all classes with the package, but should they not be able to attend all the hours of classes within the package, no deduction or refund on fees will be allowed.

Courses are available as follows:

Grade 4 (10 yrs by the end of May 2023):

Grade 4 Ballet
Grade 4 Modern
Grado 5 Spanish
Grade 2 Tap
Beginners Contemporary

As teachers we strive to improve the level of education we provide students with and we feel it is essential for all students to do the proper and correct amount of training they need throughout the years of their development in order to maximize their potential. We have structured schedules and are in line with the concept of a Conservatoire and as a principal I would like to encourage parents to consider the packages we are proposing.

5 year old students are able to sit for examinations which are accredited internationally by the MFHEA and fall under the European Qualifications Framework (EQF/MQF). In order for students to sit for exams they must be attending the required training programme at the appropriate age level recommended by the school. Students who do not attend all classes for each of the disciplines being offered within the packages will not achieve the required level to sit for an examination in all genres, so they will not be in position to enter the examination at that specific level. However students are allowed to participate in classes without taking on their examinations should circumstances not enable them to attend all classes.

Details about the 2022 / 2023 class schedule and relevant price list, are available below. You will also find the JCDC Rules & Regulations & the JCDC Uniform.

We would like to invite you to secure your child's place for the upcoming scholastic year by submitting the course registration form and sending your deposit. Your child's place in the class will only be confirmed upon receipt of payment and you will receive a confirmation from our end via email.

Full confirmation of a student's place in the class will be made once the full term fee is paid. The school reserves the right to cancel the place of a student if fees remain unpaid after at least one reminder. Once a student is registered, fees will be due for the entire term even if the student fails to attend the class he/she are registered for. Parents/Guardians are to inform the school in writing about the intention to terminate classes at least a month prior to the start of term. Failure to do so does not remove the obligation to pay fees. Students under the age of 18 need to be registered by a parent or legal guardian who will be responsible for the payment of any fees relevant or related to the student's dance education. Students over the age of 18 are able to register themselves and also be held responsible for their fees.
