It is exciting to be working together in ministry! Through our partnership, we are planning a special "Ministry Experience" this summer. In previous years, I've called these "mission trips" but I've recently grown to learn that there's so much more to the word "mission" and also that it means so many things to different people. I'll be sharing over the next several months just what this experience will be like and how through this experience we will explore our call as Christians to be involved in the world.
Some of what you can expect from this experience:
- serving others in need;
- growing in faith
- fun, community and recreation;
- learning about different people, places and cultures.
We are exploring a number of different options. These include:
- International Travel (air travel to Central or South America);
- Domestic Travel (accessible within a 8-12 hour drive);
- High School Only "Ministry and Service" Trip (current 8th - 12th grades) with chaperones;
- Combined Intergenerational Trip
"Ministry and Service" (current 4th grades - adults);
- Middle School "Magical Mystery Tour" - recreation, community, bible study, retreat (current 4th-8th);
- Multiple Trips: One trip for older youth another for younger
