The Third Saturday volunteer day begins at the Native Garden that Pie Ranch co-created with the Amah Mutsun Land Trust. Depending on group size, some folks will stay in the Native Garden and some will go with Pie Ranch staff to do work on the farm.
The types of jobs we do on volunteer days depends on what needs to get done at that point in the season. Volunteers help with planting, weeding, harvests, culling and mulching. There is also maintenance work to be done— cleaning up areas that have been damaged by the wildfire, removing debris, and sometimes even infrastructure improvement or repair. The majority of our volunteer opportunities are hard but gratifying physical labor on the farm. Most jobs require heavy lifting, squatting and bending, lots of walking and a full day out in the sun, wind, or other coastal weather.
Parking & Arrival
When you arrive at Pie Ranch (2080 Green Oaks Way, Pescadero, CA 94060), park in the grass behind the Farmstand, perpendicular to the gravel road in the designated, clearly-signed parking sections. This
