Thank you for your interest in the Harry G. Schaefer Mentorship Program at Mount Royal University.
This program connects senior students (i.e. final year of study or second to last year of study) with professionals in their future field or graduate program of interest ("career path") to discuss career aspirations and options, develop new skills, and gain new insights.
The outcomes of the Harry G. Schaefer Mentorship Program (HGSMP) are as follows:
As a result of participating in the HGSMP, mentees will:
- Identify practical career-related skills they have developed (eg. networking, job-search strategies, interviewing skills, etc.)
- Articulate having learned something new about their chosen career path
- Report an increased confidence in transitioning from MRU into their career path
- Report a greater sense of belonging within the MRU community
As a result of participating in the HGSMP, mentors will:
- Report an increase in or enhancement of their leadership skills
- Feel a greater sense of fulfillment having made a positive impact on an MRU student's success
- Report a greater sense of belonging within the MRU community
