Health Literacy Workshop: Participant Topics of Interest Survey
Health literacy describes an individuals ability to understand and process basic health information and use that information to make the best and most appropriate health decisions. Poor health literacy has serious health consequences. Unfortunately, most adults in the U.S. do not have good health literacy skills and certain groups are at even greater risk of poor health literacy and poor health outcomes. Those groups are: 1) racial and ethnic groups other than White, 2) immigrant and displaced individuals, 3) people with less than a high school degree or GED, 4) people with incomes at or below poverty level, and 4) non-native speakers of English.
We and our collaborators are putting together a health literacy workshop! We would like to know more about you and your interest in order to put together a great workshop and ensure that our resources are reaching populations in need. Please fill out the survey below.
