Jobs and Java: Science Policy Career Development and Networking Series February 2020 RSVP
How does a graduate-level basic science, medical, and/or nursing degree contribute to a policy career?
Are there specific jobs that define science and healthcare policy?
How do I gain experience in science and/or healthcare policy as a researcher and/or clinician?

Join UMMS Paths2Policy and Dr. Yasmeen Hussain (Washington State Academy of Sciences) for a casual conversation over coffee and donuts that will help answer these questions and more!

Both science and healthcare policy work encompasses a massive range of careers, industries, and government institutions that can be challenging for clinical and research trainees to access and understand while they complete their training. Dr. Hussain will share her experience in science policy and how she seized opportunities to gain policy experience. Additionally, this will be a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in applying for science policy fellowships in the future as Dr. Hussain has completed both the American Association For the Advancement Of Science (AAAS) Science & Technology Fellowship and the Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship programs.

Where: ASC 6th Floor Large Conference Room - AS6.2072
