Books for Me at BookSpring provides “forever books” to children each year in dozens of childcare centers, child development centers, elementary schools, and middle schools in Central Texas. Librarians, teachers, and volunteers motivate children to read with exciting literacy-related activities at each event. Many books are displayed, allowing children to explore their interests and make their own choices. Children have the opportunity to choose and keep three books per year at no cost to them or their families.

We support your book gifting events with resource kits to decorate your reading and book distribution space, assistance with volunteers (when safe and logistically possible to include them) and literacy materials to share with parents. The program fee is $0.79 per child per distribution, and you may provide up to 6 books per individual student in one year for a total of $4.74 maximum per site.  All children in your program must be given at least one book. Title 1 funds may be used to pay for the program, or you may work with your PTA, local businesses or other community group to see if they will underwrite your program fees.
