Township needs your help!  

The Active Transportation Plan (ATP) provides guidance in the development and implementation of safe, sustainable, multi-modal design solutions improving walkability, connectivity, accessibility, and safety throughout the Township for pedestrians and bicyclists.   The plan focuses on the following initiatives:
► Increase the pedestrian and bicycle connectivity to major destinations within the Township,
► Improve overall safety for pedestrians at intersections and crosswalks,
► Add facilities and amenities for pedestrians and cyclists including improving on-street facilities,
► Make bicycling more convenient,
► Remove existing barriers inhibiting pedestrians from accessing various Township amenities,
► Promote a healthier lifestyle for all users.

Taken into account the Township of North Fayette’s existing conditions and the data gathered from the various sources mentioned in the plan, the following proposed actions and improvements were developed:
 ► Provide a well-connected pedestrian and bicycle network via neighborhoods by completing sidewalk connections, improve connectivity to key destinations with sidewalks, bike routes, and more signalized crosswalks,
 ► Provide a bicycle and pedestrian bridge at The Pointe tp access the Montour Trail,
 ► Enhance transit bus stop connections,
 ► Provide a safe and comfortable pedestrian and bicycle network by implementing traffic calming measures, illuminated pedestrian crosswalks, mini traffic circles, and speed feedback signs,
 ► Adding wayfinding signage, street lighting, and ordinance support.
