WHAT and WHEN is the ENACTING Digital European Film Festival?

The ENACTING European Digital Film Festival is a two-day festival during which, selected social documentary films are screened, discussed, and awarded by a jury of documentary filmmakers, sociologists, and film experts. The European film festival also includes a series of online events such as masterclasses, roundtables of participating and nominated European film makers; screenings, and the award ceremony for the selected documentary films. The ENACTING European Digital Film Festival will take place on 28 and 29 April 2023.  The programme of the ENACTING European Digital Festival will be announced by the end of March 2023!

Categories of the ENACTING Digital European Film Festival?

The winning social documentaries will be awarded based on the following categories: Best Original Screenplay | Best Directing | Best Camera Work | Best Editing.

There will also be a category for the best film in the participating countries: Best Social  Documentary from Germany | Best Social Documentary from France | Best Social Documentary from Greece | Best Social Documentary from Italy | Best International Social Documentary


What are the submission deadlines?

Our submission deadline for the ENACTING Digital European Social Documentary Festival is the 15th of April 2023, after which submissions for participation in the ENACTING Digital European Film Festival will no longer be accepted. 


When will I know if my film has been selected for the Screening Selection?

If you have submitted your documentary film by the 15th of April 2023, the decision of our selection team will be announced by the 23rd of April 2023. The decision will be sent via email to you.


When will I know if my film has been nominated in one of the categories?

If you have submitted your film by the 15th of April 2023, you will receive the jury's decision by the 23rd of April 2023 if your film has been nominated in one of the festival categories. The decision will be sent via email to you.

How many films will be selected for the Screening Selection?

A total of 30 films will be selected for screening during the ENACTING Digital European Festival.


How many films are nominated per festival category?

3 films are nominated in each of the categories Best Original Screenplay | Best Director | Best Cinematography | Best Editing | Best Documentary from Germany | Best Documentary from France | Best Documentary from Greece | Best Documentary from Italy | Best International Documentary
