How: Fill out the enrollment form on our website, www.prairieflowercc.org. Parents or caregivers transport children to PF; we encourage making carpool arrangements together!

Why: To give your child or pre-teen the gift of free time and space to play, explore their own imaginations, and build creative outdoor skills--with their friends in the woods!

★Our main activity is free play in our wonderful 14-acres of ravines, creeks, riverbanks, and woods. However, on any given day at Poemtree Nature Club you may find your child: learning woods & garden care, trading jokes, poems, & riddles, playing, climbing, hiking, keeping a nature journal, drawing, playing classic youth games like Mother-May-I and Capture the Flag, learning knot-tying, foraging, wood-working, whittling, building fires, learning tree and plant identification, climbing trees, playing music, hearing nature stories & writing our own, making maps, inventing games, building forts, building a dam in the creek or a rock museum, relaxing in a hammock and all manner of  other outdoor projects! During the winter months when days are shorter, we are at times forced indoors, where our main activities will be playing board games, cooking, making art, and other forms of crafting/ handwork (like weaving, knitting, sewing, and painting) following the impulses/interests of the children. We explore different themes, activities &/or skills seasonally.
