This form is to register and pay your participation in the class gathering in Cambridge and Boston May 3-5, 2024.  

Please note that the keystone event will happen on Saturday evening, May 4.  Chris and Hilary Gabrieli have graciously offered to host classmates at their home on Louisburg Square, Beacon Hill, Boston.  This event is limited to 150 total people.  After the limit is reached, we will close registration and create a wait list.

Regarding money:  The organizers are seeking to keep costs down for all.  Some events are entirely free.  Some are pay at the door.  Any payments required in advance will be collected via Eventbrite links below.

The organizing committee looks forward to seeing you in May.

2.  Tour #1 - Harvard Art Museums  
Saturday May 4, 11 AM
What: This 1-hour tour of the Harvard Art Museums will be lead by Mary Schneider.   Where: Harvard Art Museum Inside Courtyard, 32 Quincy Street.  Limit: 20 people. Admission to the museums is free. This exact tour repeats at noon, please attend only one of the two tour groups.   EVENT LIMIT HAS BEEBN REACHED
3.  Tour #2 - Harvard Art Museums

What: This 1-hour tour of the Harvard Art Museums will be lead by Mary Schneider.   Where: Harvard Art Museum Inside Courtyard, 32 Quincy Street.  Limit: 20 people.  Admission to the museums is free.  EVENT LIMIT HAS BEEBN REACHED
4.  Tour #3 - Boston Institute of Contemporary Art & Lunch

What: Let's meet at the front door to the Boston ICA on the waterfront at 10:30 AM.  ICA website   We'll tour the exhibits for an hour or more then repair to a restaurant nearby for a group lunch and a cold beer.  Maybe, if the weather is good, we'll eat outdoors on the waterfront.  Everyone buys their own tickets and lunch.  Come one, come all - this event has no limits.  Organizer: Joe McDonough

5.  Tour #4 - Museum of Natural History and Lunch
10:30 AM, Saturday, May 4
Meet at the Harvard Museum of Natural History on Oxford Street.  After touring the museum, we'l  pick up takeout lunch (anywhere in the square and meet a place TBD.  Everyone buys their own ticket and lunch.  Organizer: Susan Israel

6.  Classmate Discussion - What do we hope?  What do we fear?
Saturday, May 4, 2:30 - 4:00 PM

What: Daphne de Marneffe (classmate, author, and practicing psychologist) will lead a discussion.   Joe McDonough will assist as best he can.   What do we hope?  And what do we fear?  For ourselves, our relationships, our communities.  And how do we care for one another as we face these concerns?
Where: Near Harvard Square.  Exact Location is TBD.  Details will be provided as available.

7.  Cocktail Party hosted by Chris and Hilary Gabrieli
Saturday May 4, 6-8 PM
What:  Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.  Where: Gabrieli Home, 8 Louisburg Square, Beacon Hill, Boston.  Hosted by Chris and Hilary Gabrieli.  Attendance at this event is limited to 150 people total.  Please do not sign-up unless you are committed to being there, and do cancel if you cannot make it.  After the limit of 150 people is reached, a wait list will be created. 8.  Brunch at the Harvard Club of Boston
Sunday May 5, 11 AM - 1 PM
What: Sunday brunch buffet with classmates.  Jazz music will be provided by HR1981's own Russ Gershon and his Quartet.  Where: In Harvard Hall (a BIG beautiful room!) at the Harvard Club of Boston.  374 Commonwealth Ave.  Cost:  About $44 per person.   Pay here:  Harvard Club Brunch  This is our biggest event, with room for the full '81 orbit - family and friends from neighboring classes as well as all of us. 9.  A Sunday Walk in Boston
Sunday May 5, about 1 PM (after brunch at the Harvard Club)
What:  A one mile walk from the Harvard Club, down Commonwealth Avenue, short detour through Copley Square, to the Boston Public Garden. Stroll the Garden.  Ride the Swan Boats.  Where: Meet either at the Harvard Club just after brunch (about 1 PM) or at the Public Garden itself. To join us at the Garden, look for classmates at the mounted statue of George Washington at the Arlington Street entrance.   Cost: free as a bird.   WEATHER PERMITTING
