Storytelling Master Class
Join us on the 18th and 25th of September for a free Storytelling Master Class!
The theme of the sessions: "Stories where we're from".

During two intensive workshops, we will welcome traditional stories from our home culture. You will learn how to tell them in a way that feels real and vibrant for you and for your audience.

Traditional stories like Oshun and Oya, Mulla Nasruddin, Coyote, King Arthur, Zeus and Aphrodite often tell us more about where we're from than any single experience. With these stories we can share our pride, humour and frustration with the cultures we grew up in. As storytellers we can discover our own voice along the way.

This workshop is for beginner and continuing storytellers who wish to explore the deep craft of storytelling by honouring the cultures we were born and raised in. By re-telling traditional stories today, and presenting them in our own way, we also give our own contribution to this cultural heritage.

For this two-session workshop, please come with an idea for a story you would like to tell. It doesn't have to be ready to perform, we will develop it together!

Your storyteller:
Simon Hodges is a passionate teller of folk story and myths of his home culture of North Western Europe. Recently his work focuses on creating places of welcome for all stories of all the cultures in the Netherlands.
