Please use this form for Grant Requests to the Gloucester Education Foundation (GEF). Please review the form in its entirety prior to submission, as well as the guidelines on our website

Starting in Fall 2024, all proposals need to include a budget using this template. Please make a copy of this Google Sheet and rename it using this format: "NAME_GEF BUDGET". 

If this is a new proposal and/or a pilot, please reach out to GEF (emily@thinkthebest.org or 978-282-5550) to float your idea idea before you spend time on a proposal; we can help determine whether we think it is a good fit at this time for GEF, and our board, staff, and student advisors can consult with you as you develop your plan. This first step is key to creating a new proposal and increases the likelihood that it will be favorably reviewed by the GEF Board of Directors. We are always happy to provide this same support to returning applicants as well.

Please note that you must share your proposal and budget with your principal and the superintendent's office for their approval prior to submission to GEF. All submitted requests will be forwarded by GEF to school principal(s) and to the superintendent's office for confirmation that they have been approved before being considered for review by the GEF Board of Directors. The Board will not review any proposals that don't have support from school and district leaders.

Finally, please review our Program Proposal Rubric to get a sense of how the GEF board evaluates proposals and what we are looking for in programs we fund. The numerical score from these rubrics is considered among other factors when making funding decisions.
