Current Committees
Communications
The Communications Committee is charged with chapter marketing and member and/or industry news for the Upstate New York chapter. This team generates public awareness of MPI Global and Chapter activities through several channels including web, social media and print.
Education
The Education Committee is responsible for the design and execution of education programs including signature events. We partner with speakers to deliver strong educational content that is appealing to both planners and suppliers. Team tasks include: soliciting program host venues, recommending and securing speakers and applying for Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) continuing education hours. This team works closely with our chapter administrator on event logistics for registration and web listing, and the communications team for overall event marketing.
Finance
The Finance Committee is charged with providing financial oversight for the chapter members’ monetary resources through a variety of activities. Traditional tasks include budgeting, financial reporting and the creation and monitoring of internal controls and accountability policies.
Membership
The Membership Committee is charged with total member care to include recruitment, retention and recognition. The committee works to encourage meeting industry professionals to become members of our chapter. Upon joining, the team welcomes and orients new members, and ensures a ROI through member engagement at both the local and global level.
Special Events
The Special Events Committee is charged with design and execution of social and networking events to increase member value and generate chapter revenue. This includes Cocktails and Connection events throughout the year and our annual Gala.
Sponsorship
The Sponsorship Committee is charged with maintaining current partner relationships as well as securing and fulfilling new chapter partnerships.
