Spanish for Social Justice for BIPOC                          Fall 2021 Virtual/Hybrid Courses Registration
¡Bienvenides! Welcome to Spanish for Social Justice!

Algarabía Language Co-op is excited to announce that we are offering Online/Hybrid Spanish classes at The People's Forum and will have new Spanish instructors joining us this fall!

Spanish for Social Justice courses are offered by Algarabía Language Co-op in partnership with The People's Forum. We offer courses at the BEGINNER and INTERMEDIATE levels of fluency to those interested in topics of social justice, politics, and culture. Through weekly social justice themes, and using a communicative and popular education approach, participants will improve their Spanish skills and critically engage with various Latinx and Latin American cultural productions (centered around the lived experiences of working class people of Indigenous and African descent on the continent). These courses are designed for folks at different levels of fluency in their productive (speaking, writing) and receptive (listening and reading) skills. Special focus will be given to learning vocabulary and community organizing terminology relevant to contemporary social movements in New York City, one of the largest and most diverse Spanish-speaking cities in the world, the rest of the U.S. and Latin America.
