UChicon Departments
COAT ROOM - Take coats/outerwear from guests as they come in and return it to them as they leave (it is cold in January).

CAFE - Set up/tear down our 3rd floor cafe and work with our caterer to take payments from guests and hand them food items.

REGISTRATION
- Check preregistered/day-of registration guests as they come in and hand them their beautiful, free, UChicon-branded badge + lanyard. This is a very important job in the morning (<12p).

KARAOKE - Take song requests from people who want to sing and make sure nobody steals the karaoke laptop/machine.

ARTIST ALLEY - Check in artists in the morning, be available for any questions about AA from guests or artists, and try to sell our *vintage* UChicon merch.

COSPLAY CONTEST - Check in contestants, group them up, and make sure they're all lined up and ready to go when the judging occurs (12p-1p generally).

PANELS - Guide panelists to their rooms at their scheduled times (which will be posted in advance) and make sure they're set up and ready to go by their panel start times. Troubleshoot any issues with panels.

SECURITY - Walk around, look tough, and make sure people are following the rules. Any serious issues can and should be referred to the Matriarchs/on-site UCPD. Anything that requires a warm body to do something also generally falls under this department.

STAFF CARE - Make sure people are eating their breakfasts and lunches, bring food to people who are too busy to leave their posts, and make sure nobody steals our pizza/stuff.

SCREENINGS - Screen anime and make sure nobody steals the streaming laptop.

INFO DESK - Sit in a central location and be available to help people with any questions they have, which are generally regarding directions. Check in special guests (Cosplay Contest judges, panelists, etc.)

FLOATER - Do whatever needs doing (this includes some pretty dumb but simple stuff) and help whatever department needs helping in the moment. These people are really important and we will love you forever (conditionally) if you sign up to be a floater.

MAID CAFE - Cosplay as a maid or butler and serve guests food and tea. You will receive a separate form with more details if you sign up to do this.
