The Macalester Alumni Board purpose is to help alumni engage with the college. The Alumni Board  is a working board that is organized into three working groups around specific areas: career development, diversity, and athletics. These groups set annual alumni engagement goals and plans that members work on throughout the year. The Board does not set policy or have fiduciary responsibilities; the Alumni Board’s role is to help connect alumni to the Macalester community and to meaningful volunteer opportunities with the College. Board members' active participation in the work throughout the year is critical.

All submissions will be reviewed by the Nominations Committee of the Alumni Board at the Spring board meeting. The selection process is competitive. The Nominations Committee has an objective process that ensures that  Alumni Board members represent the Macalester community. We are intentional about electing members from a range of different class years, geographical locations, identities and majors.

Alumni Board members are passionate about Macalester, dedicating 2-5 hours per month to Board work. Members leverage their life experience, professional expertise and interests to help achieve the goals of the Board.

Individuals will be notified by the end of March regarding their application.
