Unsilenced: A Poetry Workshop Responding to Indigenous Slavery in Southern Colorado

State Historian Jared Orsi and Poet Jodie Hollander will be visiting the Fort Garland Museum and Cultural Center to lead a 3 hour creative writing workshop inspired by the history and natural landscape and setting of the place. This workshop will begin with a tour of our Unsilenced exhibit, where Jared will provide some introductory historical context and lead a discussion with participants in responses to the exhibit. Jodie will then lead a brief poetry lesson and offer participants time to write and share their poetry. This is a free event with space for 20 participants ages 16 and up.
