WHAT IS AWANA?
AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” (2 Timothy 2:15). AWANA is a Chicago based international organization which offers Bible-centered program for children and youth ministry, providing local churches with weekly clubs and training for students in preschool through high school. Its goal is to reach children and their families with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.
AWANA HISTORY
AWANA began in 1950 as a youth program at the North Side Gospel Center in Chicago, Illinois. Lance Latham, the church pastor, worked with Art Rorheim to develop a program that would appeal to young people, reach them with the gospel of Christ and train them in the Lord’s work. Other churches heard about the success of the AWANA program and asked if they could use it. Today, each week nearly two million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in Awana, this includes 1.08 million in 103 countries outside of the United States.
OUR AWANA CLUBS
Carmel Logos Baptist Church (CLBC) launched its AWANA program in January 2001. Throughout the years, our AWANA Clubs have been blessed with a few dozen active clubbers and well-trained and spiritually mature leaders. CLBC had been awarded “Excellence of Leaders Training” for many times in AWANA Leaders’ Conference over the past decade. Some clubbers have trusted in Christ and continue to grow through the ministry of AWANA. CLBC offers Sparks Club (SK-G2), Truth & Training Clubs  (G3-6), and Trek (Gr.7 and up). AWANA programs include Bible memorization, Bible message, and structured game activities. If you would like your child to learn group dynamics and discipline, to know Christ and to be equipped with sound Christian doctrine, to build up character and to associate with other like-minded kids, we highly recommend our AWANA Clubs to you. Our clubs are conducted in compliance with CLBC Child Protection Policy.
