The Village of Canton is creating an Advisory Committee to address Governor Cuomo's Executive Order 203. The Advisory Committee will review police policies and procedures, make recommendations for improvement, and develop a plan for implementation of the recommendations. Advisory Committee members will gather input from community members throughout the process.

The Advisory Committee will include a cross-section of community members and stakeholders, including but not limited to local colleges and K-12, local business, non-profit, faith-based, and community organizations.

The Advisory Committee seeks to be inclusive of people with diverse backgrounds, identities, and perspectives.

Please be aware that the Advisory Committee is a working group with a defined set of expectations and deadlines as laid out in the proposed plan.

Community members who wish to participate in this process but do not have the time to commit to the working group will have other opportunities for input and participation. Information will be made available on the website throughout the process.
