As a condition of entry for the Angling Spirit event, each participant must complete a shoreline clean-up. This clean-up can be conducted on any shore, lake, river or pond (if water is not available, any clean-up will count). Competitors must complete a verification form to confirm completion of the clean-up.
Participants are encouraged to bring along friends and family to make it a fun and enjoyable activity together. Taking pictures is also important as they are required to complete the verification process. If a participant has mobility issues, they can have a third party assist with the act of picking up litter, but the participant must still be present in the pictures.
Once the clean-up is completed, competitors are asked to make a public post on either their Instagram/Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter. If the participant is a minor or there are extenuating circumstances that require a private account, they can post from a public account held within the family or contact media@anglingspirit.com for alternative arrangements.
It is important to note that each participant must submit a different link for their post (using the same post as other competitors is not allowed unless it is being reposted and a unique link is being submitted). If a participant does not have social media account or has any questions, they can contact media@anglingspirit.com for assistance. Overall, the Angling Spirit event aims to bring people together through the inclusive act of fishing and cleaning.
