International Grad Worker Testimonies
Thank you for agreeing to share with the Northwestern University Graduate Workers (NUGW-UE) issues and conflicts you have faced as an international graduate worker at Northwestern. Admin have eliminated much of our proposal (see the texts here) and we want to effectively demonstrate the critical nature of our demands by providing first hand accounts of instances where NU has failed the international grad worker community.

In particular, we are looking for testimonies regarding taking time off to handle visa and immigration matters, concerns with NU Police and undocumented workers, tax assistance, general concerns with the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISS), and any other issues you have experienced during your time at NU in your capacity as an international graduate worker.

As a reminder, these testimonies will be shared with Northwestern administration during contract negotiations. Please feel free to add as little or as much detail about the incident(s) as you are comfortable with in this form. Due to the private and sensitive nature of these testimonies, all information that is collected will be completely anonymous (no names, emails, or IP address data will be collected). All testimonies will be stored in a Google Forms database.

All individuals who share their testimonies with NUGW-UE will be in complete control of their data. If, after submitting a testimony, an individual decides that they do not want their testimony to be shared with Northwestern administration, they may contact NUGW-UE with the date and time that they submitted their testimony and it will be deleted from the database. Once the testimonies have been shared with Northwestern administration within contract negotiations, the database of testimonies will be deleted.

Thank you again for sharing your story. These testimonies will be instrumental in our efforts to secure the best possible contract for Northwestern graduate students.
