NEW for 2023-24 - School Beautification
Do you have any ideas for a "jazzy" name for this committee? Feel free to share!
Work with the school facilities staff and PTO board to assist with both indoor and outdoor projects to help uplift the appearance of our school's campus. This might include anything from decorating the school's lobby areas (east & west side) for different seasons/holidays to assisting with outdoor projects (big & small) and everything in between. We are looking for both VOLUNTEERS and LEADS for this "upstart" committee.

Hospitality
Families are needed to lead each grade-level breakfast, (with support from our PTO Hospitality Leads) as well as donate items for school-wide appreciation events, treat carts and Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

Watch DOGS - Dads of Great Students
Watch MOMS - Moms of Magnificent Students
Although "Dads" is in the name, we have expanded our program to include ALL grown-ups (moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc...) active in a JA student's life to volunteer in this capacity. Generally, volunteers commit a half-day or full-day to assist with classroom and school-wide activities. Volunteer time may be served both indoors and outdoors.
*
Community Gardening
Assist the two teachers who lead the school's community garden effort with organization and gardening activities.
*
Yearbook
A volunteer from each classroom is needed to help take and/or gather photos and also design a page (or pages) in the yearbook for their class or grade. This is an "at home" opportunity which requires internet access.
*
Mileage Club
Assist with punching/marking lap cards & cheering students. This is an outdoor opportunity (weather permitting) which is generally held on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Younger siblings are allowed to join adult volunteers.
*
Lunch Room
Assist in the cafeteria and commons during lunch. Younger siblings are allowed to join adult volunteers.
*
Book Fair
Assist with set-up, cashiering and tear-down of Spring and/or Fall book fairs.
*
That's A Wrap
Assist with wrapping holiday presents (classroom gifts for students or personal gifts) for JA Teachers and Staff. Will be held over two days in early December.
*
Fun Run
Assist with various tasks leading up to and during Fun Run. The Fun Run is scheduled for Friday, October 13.
*

Help in distributing all the things as needed. For example: Butterbraids, Yearbooks, Fun Run T-shirts, etc... You would be contacted by the event chair when the time comes.
*
Community & Fundraising Events
Serve as a volunteer at various events as needed. For example: Open House, Timehop, etc...
*
Event Parking & Traffic Control
Assist with parking & directing traffic during concerts and other large school-wide events. (generally in the evening). No it isn't the most glamorous, but it is certainly needed at times!

Do you have any questions for PTO or ideas you would like to share? (We will do our best to respond to questions, but please also feel free to reach out to japtopresident@gmail.com)
Do you have any specific talents or professional services (event management, interior design, accounting/bookkeeping, graphic design, lawyer, seamstress, website design, social media content manager, landscaper, etc...) you would like to offer to the Jefferson Academy PTO? We'd love to hear how you want to help (either on a voluntary basis or as a paid professional).
Do you own a business that the PTO can support? We would love the opportunity to partner with JA Families in supporting your restaurant, screen print shop, graphic design firm, accounting firm or any other business that might be a good fit. Please share the type of business here if you'd like the opportunity to potentially partner with JA PTO.
