Rent Strike Term 3 Form
We are continuing to strike into the third term. If you to part in the strike last term, please fill out the form again so we can have an idea of numbers.

Students who currently reside in UAL halls have been lied to and have been paying for facilities they do not have access to. These facilities were continued to be listed on UAL's accommodation website despite UAL knowing students would not be able to make use of them during the pandemic. They have raised the price of rent since the last contract term from £189 to £197, we are paying more for less. This is false advertising, and we students are fed up of being used as a means to make profit.

OUR DEMANDS:
1 - A RENT REDUCTION OF 30% FOR ALL STUDENTS CURRENTLY LIVING IN UAL HALLS

2 - NO PENALTY CONTRACT RELEASES AND DEPOSIT REFUNDS FOR ANY STUDENT THAT WISHES TO TERMINATE THEIR CONTRACT PREMATURELY

3 - NO STAFF REDUNDANCIES

4 - BETTER MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT MADE AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS LIVING IN UAL HALLS

5 - RETRAINING OF UAL HALLS STAFF AND iQ STAFF IN MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

6 - FULL ACCESS TO WORKSHOP SPACES IN UAL HALLS

7 - NO REPERCUSSIONS FOR RENT STRIKERS

UAL Rent Strike show solidarity with other universities around the UK in protesting the refund of rent to students.

You can stop striking at any time for any reason, but please let us know by emailing ualrentstrike@gmail.com so we can keep an eye on numbers.

All of your information will be kept private and only used for rent strike purposes, after the strike is finished all your information will be wiped.

By completing this form I am agreeing to withhold my rent in the month of April 2021 with other students/renters until the demands are met. It is important to note that you must have signed your contract through UAL and did not start your contract with your halls provider directly (Meaning your landlord in your contract is listed as UAL) *
Would you be willing to take part in some in-person action such as a protest or sit-in later on in the term if COVID restrictions permit it? *
