Credit Card Recommendation Request: Introduction
Broken Down by Sections:
I. Introduction (This Section: Click "Next" at bottom to continue)
II. Credit Card Preferences
III. Travel Questions
IV. Current Situation Questions

The more questions you answer on the next pages (click next at the bottom), the more accurate your results. I made many mistakes in my early days of credit card acquisitions despite my research at the time and wish that someone like me now had been available.

I can give up to 4 credit card (& 4 debit card) recommendations per request based on what you should be able to spend and please don't request more than once every 3 months. These recommendations are for those based out of the US or with a US social security number (I will not be asking for that, but when you eventually apply it's most often needed for personal cards).

Please note that I am not a financial advisor, do not represent any bank, but may or may not receive compensation if you acquire anything that I recommend. Some links will typically be referral links & some will typically not be. Using the referral links if you feel the product is best is one of the main ways that I can give you advice despite my busy schedule. For many, the best way to get points will be from spending & points purchases, not from referrals, as has been the case with the company that I advise for points where >95% of points acquisitions are from spending or points purchases.

As you'll see, my questions are more than typical to provide a better analysis with more data by opting to answer some of my optional questions.

The recommendations I can give are for US based credit cards. If you are not based in the US, do not plan to be soon, & do not have a US social security number, here are some alternatives:

Credit Requirements
The cards for this request assume that you have a FICO (not Vantage such as the Vantage score given on Creditkarma) credit score above 700 on free sites like https://www.experian.com/consumer-products/credit-score.html . If you need to boost your scores, see my page for it here geared primarily toward boosting it for purposes of a home purchase: https://www.adambgarrett.com/credit

If you do not have a 700 or more, I recommend looking at the secured card options on this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MmrA2cLGv0c4p_CoeXpS3zByyoCzyggcPUhOMas0WaQ/edit?usp=sharing , primarily using debit cards (including $ back ones & ones w discounts mentioned here) instead of credit cards until all of your revolving debt has been paid off and you've kept it paid for at least a year and you've got systems in place to avoid credit card pitfalls: https://adambgarrett.wixsite.com/points/avoiding-credit-card-pitfalls
Debit Cards
While credit card recommendations are best tailor-made due to the dozens of solid options, annual fees in some cases where the annual fee can make sense (I have over a dozen cards with an annual fee though all of my first cards had none & I still have a number with no annual fee), credit impact of acquisition, and the fact that you can't add them all at once, debit cards, on the other hand, are something where you can acquire all of the good ones for cashback & discounts at once. Here are my recommendations: https://adambgarrett.wixsite.com/points/debit-cards
My first time to the UK (I'm the kid on the left, with my brothers and dad)
My Proposal on a Disney Trip covered mostly by points & credit card benefits: Most food including the best Disney dining plan such as dinner at Cinderella's Castle the night I proposed, my wife's hotels, the theme park tickets, and the flights while I stayed with a friend & borrowed his spare car though points options are available with rental cars like I did for my honeymoon
I recommend looking at this site for avoiding credit card pitfalls prior to considering applying for credit cards
