The Language Explorers Club is a program for students Grades 4-12 who would like an additional chance to practice and improve their English skills. Through lessons, games, and activities, participants of the Language Explorer's Club learn and use vocabulary for a wide variety of situations. Reading, writing, listening, and speaking are all included in the program, and participants are assisted by experienced ESL teachers. Overall, this program is designed to help students feel confident in their emerging English skills as well as meet others from around the world.

Due to the virtual nature of the program (i.e., held through Zoom), here are our expectations from parents/guardians so their child can truly benefit from the program:

1. Ensure that your child has access to a device (laptop, tablet, phone) and internet access.
2. Make sure your child is available for each session and ready to go at the designated start time.
3. Please add the following email to your address book: lec@newcomerwelcomecentre.com 
4. Parents will regularly check emails sent by the teachers. They will notify teachers of their child's absence at least a day before the session.

LEC will take place on Wednesday's from 4:00 - 5:30pm.
