ESCA Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship Application
ESCA D&I SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

PURPOSE: The purpose of the ESCA D&I Scholarship Fund is to assist students pursuing careers in our industry who demonstrate commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in their university and local communities.

SPECIAL NOTE: With your application, you also become eligible for an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience and a trip to Dallas for this year's IAEE Expo Expo. This unique opportunity allows you to shadow a company as they prepare and exhibit at the event!

I. CRITERIA:
     1. An applicant must be pursuing studies related to the exhibition or events industry to be considered eligible.
     2. An applicant must be sponsored and enrolled in one ESCA's current university partner schools (UCF - Rosen College, UNLV, Delaware State University).
    3. All applications and all backup documents are due by October 15th.

II. ENCLOSE WITH APPLICATION:
     1. An applicant must submit an essay approximately 500 words long and should include the following:
          a.  What does diversity and inclusion mean to the applicant?
          b.  How does the applicant advocate for diversity and inclusion in their college and/or community?
          c.  How has the applicant's identities or lived experiences shaped their outlooks or actions in their personal and academic spheres?
      2. Applicant must submit evidence of academic performance and college GPA.   College Freshman applicants may submit high school transcripts along with SAT or ACT scores.

III. EVALUATION CRITERIA:
     1. Applicant essay
     2. Cumulative GPA, and evidence of academic motivation
     3. Demonstration of leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, and work experience.
     4. Demonstration of a genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion in all forms.
