Tusculum Earlybird team registration
NOTE: THE FIELD FOR THIS TOURNAMENT IS PROVISIONALLY CLOSED. WE WILL EXTEND THE FIELD AT THE POINT WHERE WE HAVE SUFFICIENT STAFF. 

There are a couple of interest groups that I am in contact with. They are clear to register.

This form is specifically for teams registering for the Tusculum Earlybird high school quizbowl tournament to be held at Tusculum University on September 24, 2022.

This is a conventional quizbowl tournament; this registration form is set up to accept registrations from teams of up to six players each. (If you seek to register a team with more than six players, please contact tournament director Chuck Pearson at cpearson@tusculum.edu for instructions.)

The ruleset for the tournament will follow NAQT rules in all regards except for timing; matches will consist of 10 tossup/bonus-cycle halves and will run untimed for the match (similar to the ruleset for NAQT Sectional Championship Tournament matches). These rules can be read here: https://www.naqt.com/rules/.

Because of the support of Admissions and the College of STeM, every school attending this tournament may register one team free of charge. If that school intends to register a additional teams, the fee will be $80 for each team.

All tournament participants will also receive a picnic box lunch on-campus (hot dog, chips, slaw, and drink; options for vegetarian participants will be available).

At this time, owing to the extended COVID spread, it is likely that we will ask ALL participants (staff, players, coaches, and spectators) in this tournament to mask for the duration of the tournament while they are indoors, and to conduct themselves in a fashion that prevents airborne spread of the virus. We are going to base our instructions set on tournaments that were successful in Southwest Virginia last season (most especially the Eastern Montgomery Invitational last January, during the initial Omicron peak) and keep in mind the breadth of regions that this tournament might draw from.
