Summer 2023 Vendor Contract
By submitting this document I am stating I have read the rules of the market and attest that my product(s) meet those requirements. I understand I am not allowed to offer products for resale nor am I allowed to sell products that I have no part in growing, raising, or producing.

I understand that if I violate any rule of the market I will receive one warning to stop. If I continue, I understand that I will be asked to leave the market permanently.

2023 Vendor Rules

Only producers from Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties may participate in the market.  Exceptions may be made for products not offered from producers in those counties at the sole discretion of the market master. If products do become available from growers/producers in the counties listed above, the previous vendor's participation is not guaranteed the following year.

All items for sale must be locally grown, raised and/or produced.  All items such as baked goods, jams, jellies, meat, dairy, and processed foods must come from a licensed, certified facility and the producer must be licensed for that facility. A copy of your license must be submitted to the market master. WE ARE NOT A COTTAGE LAW MARKET.

All products offered for sale must be grown/raised/produced by you or your family/garden/facility.  Products for resale are not permitted.

Any non-food items are limited to sale by full season vendors.  Items in this category must have prior approval from the market master.

At this time, samples are allowed but vendors must abide by Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development guidelines.

Set up and clean up are the responsibility of the individual vendor.  The vendor must supply tables, chairs, tents, cash box, display equipment, and power as needed.  A canopy tent no larger than 10x10 is required and must be weighted down AT ALL TIMES.  Weights of no less than 20 pounds must be on all four corners of the tent.  We are a rain or shine market with significant wind on most days. A tent not meeting these requirements will NOT be allowed to remain on site.

Vendors who miss more than three of their scheduled days will be subject to losing their space without refund.  Weather will not be considered a valid excuse unless the market as a whole is called off for dangerous conditions. If your product requires printed labeling, it is your responsibility to ensure it will stand up to all weather conditions.  Vendors must arrive between 7:00-8:30. Vendors arriving after 8:45 will be denied access. This is a safety issue for our customers and a courtesy issue for the other vendors, volunteers, and staff.

If the market master is not notified, in writing, BEFORE 6am the day of market, the vendor is required to pay a $50 late fee before they are allowed to return to market in the future.  

In the event of dangerously heavy rain, wind or lightning occurring after the market opens for the day, vendors will be asked to stop selling and take cover.  They can choose to leave or remain until the situation clears or market is called off.  Vendors who choose to leave will not be penalized.

Vendor pets are not allowed. Smoking by vendors is not allowed.  This includes stepping away from your booth to have a cigarette.

The Harbor Springs Farmers’ Market strongly believes that individual vendors are only as successful as the whole market.  Please consider the market as a community and treat your fellow vendors with respect.  Help
when you can and stay positive!  If you have a concern or issue, please bring it to the market master so it can be resolved to the benefit of everyone.

This agreement sets forth and constitutes the entire agreement and understanding of the parties with respect to the subject matter described above.
