About the event
In June, we are holding an in-person roundtable where we will be joined by a guest speaker, Dame Rachel de Souza, The Children's Commissioner.

The Children’s Commissioner recently launched ‘The Big Ambition’, a national survey of children and young people across England. The Big Ambition aims to take children’s thoughts, opinions and ideas to decision-makers, in the lead up to the next general election. The results of the survey will be published on 25th March 2024.

Our roundtables this academic year will have a more strategic focus, looking in detail at individual policy issues and showcasing the solutions and good practice in our region, allowing North East schools to ‘lead not plead’. Conversations at these roundtables will inform Schools North East’s policy lobbying work, and help us refresh our recommendations in our 2019 Manifesto for North East Education.
