The Leadership Mason County Program is a comprehensive program provided by the Ludington/Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce as a forum for potential and current leaders to develop leadership skills and gather an awareness of trends, challenges and issues that face Mason County.

GOALS
* Identify and motivate potential leaders;
* Equip local professionals with the tools needed to identify dynamics/systems of the local
  community and strategically plan ways to implement change;
* Enhance leadership styles and techniques;
* Develop personal leadership skills in order to maximize contributions to employers,
  organizations and the community;
* Give potential leaders an opportunity to meet present leaders, associate in a meaningful
  way with their peers, and become motivated to greater involvement;
* Creating an ongoing forum for participants to gather and exchange ideas.

CRITERIA
Participants must live or work in Mason County and surrounding area and agree to attend the orientation retreat, all monthly sessions, and participate in community project.

Acceptance is based on:
* A demonstrated commitment to the area.
* A demonstrated desire to better understand and improve leadership skills.
* Interest in future community involvement.
* Ability to commit a minimum of 8 hours a month to the program.

ATTENDANCE
The Leadership Mason County Program is a 6-month program commitment, including the orientation retreat, community project and closing retreat.  Sessions will be held at various sites throughout Mason County.  Attendance is critical to the success of the program.  Prompt attendance at the orientation retreat and all monthly sessions is required for membership.  Absenteeism may result in being dropped from the program.  If you are unable to make a full commitment, it is not in your best interest to apply at this time. Dates for the 2022 cohort are: January 11 & 12, February 9, March 9, April 13, May 11, June 8.

TUITION AND FUNDING
Tuition for the Leadership Mason County Program is $1,000 per person.  This tuition can be paid by the candidate or his/her employer. Tuition is due January 1, 2022. Tuition assistance is available. Contact the Chamber for more information.
