In February 2021, Bridging the Bar (BTB) and the UK Supreme Court (UKSC) agreed to collaborate on a pilot work experience programme (‘the programme’) for aspiring lawyers belonging to statistically under-represented communities at the Bar. This scheme will see eight BTB participants assigned to a Judicial Assistant at the UK Supreme Court for a paid five-day work experience placement.

The four key objectives of this project are as follows:

1. To provide participants with an insight into the work of the Supreme Court.
2. To intellectually stimulate and challenge participants.
3. To facilitate reverse mentoring.
4. To encourage and support participants to pursue a career in law.
