About the Ghana Data Science Summit (IndabaX Ghana)
The Ghana Data Science Summit, known as IndabaX Ghana, is an esteemed annual conference collaboratively organized by Data Science Network, a non-profit entity, and Wave-2 Analytics Ltd., an innovative Ghanaian analytics startup. This event is held in partnership with Deep Learning Indaba and celebrates its 5th anniversary this year.
Our Impact
Over the years , we've significantly raised awareness in data science and AI across Ghana, gaining substantial exposure on major radio and TV channels through discussions about IndabaX Ghana. Successfully organized diverse workshops, keynote sessions, and practical training, reaching over 1,000 participants, primarily students. Catalyzed more than 50 unique research projects focused on Ghanaian issues, showcased through engaging poster presentations. Hosted the prestigious 2023 Deep Learning Indaba in collaboration with the Deep Learning Indaba Foundation, drawing 800 attendees from 36 African countries, encompassing a wide spectrum of professionals from researchers and students to professors and AI experts. Unique to our conferences, IndabaX Ghana has always offered free attendance, fostering inclusive learning and networking opportunities.
Our primary objectives are:
- Awareness: Create awareness of data science (Data management, Analytics, Machine
Learning and Artificial Intelligence) and the value it brings to students,
researchers, businesses and governments. - Capacity Building: Build capacity of data science professionals and equip them with relevant
practical and technical knowledge to take full advantage of analytics and
Machine Learning. - Collaboration and Networking: Create a platform where businesses, data science service providers, data
science professionals and data technology infrastructure providers come
together, network and collaborate to solve the most valuable and
interesting data science problems for their respective benefits. - Academic Partnership: Collaborate with local universities and other academic stakeholders to
discuss ways of incorporating modern data science concepts in their
curriculum.
