Juneau Kindergarten JumpStart 2022 Camper Registration
Juneau Kindergarten JumpStart is an engaging, literacy-focused summer program for children attending kindergarten this fall. JKJS is implemented through stories, songs, play, art, with both large and small group guided activities. Through fun, playful and engaging activities, campers will have plenty of opportunities to strengthen and improve their literacy, self-regulation, problem-solving, and fine and gross motor skills. Each day of camp follows a set routine, including: recess, morning meeting, center time, snack, read alouds, and closing circle.

JKJS is open to any Juneau child who will begin kindergarten in the fall. Children attending JKJS must be taking care of their toileting needs independently. Families are responsible for transportation to and from camp.

JKJS will be held July 5-28, Monday-Friday, from 8 AM to Noon. We will hold camp at Sít' Eetí Shaanáx - Glacier Valley School and Harborview Elementary School.

The cost of camp is $100.00. If the cost of camp would present a financial hardship, there are scholarships available. We will have a limited number of space for campers and will keep a waitlist if needed. We ask that families who plan to enroll their child in camp are committed to their child attending each day of camp.

If you would like to pay in advance, please send camp payments to: Harborview Elementary School, attn. Molly Barnes, 10014 Crazy Horse Drive, Juneau, Alaska 9981. You may write a check to JKJS (Juneau Kindergarten JumpStart).

Please contact Molly Barnes (molly.hillis@juneauschools.org) with any questions about JKJS.
