Our Family Back to School Survey II
Families had an opportunity to take a survey earlier this week. However, our return to school model has been adjusted.  This new survey provides you an opportunity to change your mind given new information.

As of 3/11/21, our model was adjusted.
The adjustments include a change in the time a student attends school for in-person classroom instruction and when CDL students are online with their teacher.

For the In-Person Hybrid choice, each student will be in school, in-person two days per week from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Times when students are not in person includes independent learning, PE, Music, Library and online instruction with the teacher two days per week.

For the CDL choice, from 9:30-11:30 students will have independent learning, PE, Music, or Library.  From 12:30-3:00 students will have live online instruction with their teacher.

Teachers will be instructing both their Hybrid and CDL students in a split cohort model. This allows our students to keep the same teacher they had all year.

Per the Governor’s orders, elementary schools in the David Douglas School District will reopen for a hybrid model of in-person instruction the week of March 29.  The exact start date is pending.

Families must choose whether to attend the hybrid model in person, or remain in CDL for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.  Please complete the survey below to indicate your preference.
In-Person Hybrid Model vs. Comprehensive Distance Learning
Option 1: In-Person Hybrid Model
Students will return to in-person learning at their current school with their current classroom teacher.  Students coming for in-person instruction will be divided into two student cohorts (Cohort A or Cohort B).

For the In-person Hybrid Model, each student will be in school, for in-person instruction, two days per week from 9:00-11:30 a.m. The days will be either Monday & Wednesday OR Tuesday & Thursday.

On the days and times when the student is not scheduled to be at school, the student will be engaging online in independent learning, have specialists (PE, Music, or Library), small group support as needed, and other online instruction with the teacher two afternoons per week.

Fridays include a 20 minute class meeting and applied learning.
Option 2 : Comprehensive Distance Learning Model (CDL)
Students who choose to stay in CDL will receive instruction online only from their current classroom teacher.  Monday -Thursday 9:30-11:30 will include independent learning, specials (PE, Music, or Library), and small group supports as needed.  From 12:30-3:00 students will receive online instruction with their teacher.  Fridays include a 20 minute class meeting and applied learning.
