Thank you for your interest in A Creative Economy, In Solidarity, guided by Marvin James for the 2023 SUM'MOR SCHOOL initiative.
A pragmatic collective learning experience for artists and creatives looking to increase their long-term sustainability within the creative economy through being in radical solidarity with their peers. This study group is an evolution of ‘The Creative Economy’ course taught at Loyola Marymount University in 2018 and aims to build on an existing knowledge of the viability of the creative economy by revealing key intersections where members of the creative class may work together to maintain sovereignty of their channels for creation, production, distribution, and participation. Over the six weeks all participants will develop a personalized ecosystem map that identifies where they may practice, cooperate, decommidify, and skill-share within their respective communities.
This study group will meet weekly in-person at Project Space (Inglewood) starting July 11th on Tuesdays, 7-9pm PST for six weeks.
Please carefully read and fill out the following study group application form.
