Pen Pal - Write Me a Letter
This form is for anyone who is interested in becoming a WMAL Pen Pal and interpreting an anonymously submitted letter. You are responsible for any supplies and materials needed for the letter's Envelope Opening (performance). Interpretations are not limited to live performance (although if you wanna monologue it that's a great option). We are hoping for a wide variety of disciplines to be represented in the Envelope Opening series:  song, movement, visual arts, culinary arts, spoken word, really anything. We believe everyone is an artist!

You will be provided an anonymously sent letter. Writers are invited to include any information about themselves they'd like which will also be shared with you. We will communicate what details may be released publicly otherwise assume all details other than the text of the letter are to remain private.

Envelope Openings will take place starting September 1st during Free Fringe Philly: https://freefringephilly.com/acts/write-me-a-letter

Participating in this project is on a volunteer basis for both letter writers and Pen Pals.

Envelope Openings will be posted via our social media handles. There is an option for live presentations via Zoom. For now fill out the form below and we will be in touch. (Please be patient as we navigate the anonymous virtual postal system.)

how much time would you ideally like to have with your letter before the Envelope Opening?
we recognize that some artists like a quick turnaround (we also acknowledge that schedules are ever changing, especially as we shift into different phases of quarantine).
Envelope Openings will take place on our social media channels, including instagram. If you'd like us to tag you as the Pen Pel please provide your handle:
