The Distinguished Service Award, established in 1990, recognizes AMSCA members who have made significant contributions in the areas of literature, education, the arts, or community service subsequent to retirement from service. Award recipients will be honored during the Biennial Meeting, and a monetary gift ($250.00) will be made to an organization of the awardees’ choice. To be eligible for this award the nominee must be a regular member of AMSCA and be recognized in one of the following areas:.
Literary Contributions: Demonstrated by publications and/or presentations in areas of expertise/interest
Educational Contributions: Demonstrated by leadership and/or research (and publication) in an educational setting.
Artistic Contributions: Recognized by peer groups and demonstrated by performances, presentations, or other venue deemed appropriate by the member making the nomination.
Community Service: Demonstrated by hours of service, volunteerism, or specific leadership such as elective office, committee, or task force in local or national organizations (professional, health, religious, etc.)
