Thank you for your interest in volunteering in our Emmanuel Care teams which seek to serve the poor and vulnerable in different ways. There are four main areas that we are involved in:
- Food insecurity - we run four weekly food banks, one at each of our sites, and 'Carpenters Arms'; monthly hot meals for homeless people
- Family Care - we are moving into the areas of fostering and adoption, and we run 'Baby Basics' supporting vulnerable new mums
- Housing - we have a number of properties that house and support people coming from tough backgrounds
- Wellbeing - we operate the 'Charis' counselling service and also regularly arrange farm work visits to get people out of the city into the countryside
We do not always have volunteer vacancies in all of these areas, because some of our teams are already quite large. However, we will keep this form updated with volunteer opportunities as they arise. Some roles will require a DBS certificate which Emmanuel can help you acquire. We cannot promise that the role will definitely be available for you.
There are also sometimes opportunities to serve in Christian social action projects outside Emmanuel, which we will list here.
