Terms & Conditions

Trip Dates and Workshops: 

  • The field trip will be held between Thursday 6th June and Tuesday 11th June 2024. 

  • Workshops will commence on Friday 7th June. 

Accessibility and Participation: 

  • The courses and trip are open to people of all abilities and backgrounds, including those with an interest in Islamic Art. No previous knowledge is required, but participants with prior experience in Calligraphy are welcome to attend. 

  • This trip provides students with the opportunity to learn about traditional arts and visit important places for analyzing patterns seen on-site. 

  • Classes will be conducted in English, with course materials potentially covering both English and Turkish. 

  • The trip will consist of a maximum of 25 students. 

Enrollment and Payment: 

  • The enrollment deadline for the trip is 1st June 2024 at 1 pm. 

  • The trip fee must be fully paid by this time via the website or the Institute’s bank account:

  • Applicants must fully complete the registration form on the Institute’s website https://yeelondon.org.uk/istanbulfieldtrip2024/  

Inclusions and Exclusions: 

  • The fee includes accommodation, museum and site entry fees, practical workshops, marbling workshop, transport within the trip, and workshop materials provided by the Institute. 

  • The fee excludes flights, airport transfers, lunch/dinner, and any personal shopping. 

Visa and Travel Insurance: 

  • It is your responsibility to secure all necessary travel documents, including a valid passport and any required visas. 

  • The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is not valid in Türkiye. Ensure you have adequate travel health insurance to cover medical treatment abroad and repatriation. 

  • All participants are required to obtain adequate travel insurance coverage for the duration of the trip and provide proof of insurance before departure. 

Responsibility and Conduct: 

  • Participants are responsible for their valuables, and the Institute will not take any responsibility for missing items. 

  • Participants must exhibit kind behavior, respect cultural norms, fellow participants, and instructors. 

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including guidelines for emergencies, seeking medical care, and following first aid procedures. 

  • Participants must comply with local laws, customs, and regulations, respecting religious practices, dress codes, and social norms. 

  • Participants are expected to acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with travel, including potential health hazards, cultural differences, and unforeseen events. 

Cancellation Policy:  

  • Cancellations made more than 20 days prior to the trip start date will receive a full refund, minus any non-refundable expenses incurred by the organizer. 

  • Cancellations made between 5 and 10 days prior to the trip start date will be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the total trip cost. 

  • Cancellations made less than 5 days prior to the trip start date are non-refundable. 

  • Refunds will be processed within 10 business days upon receiving your cancellation request. 

Changes and Refunds: 

  • The Institute reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary, workshops, or accommodations if necessary, and participants will be promptly notified. 

  • The Institute has a policy for canceling the trip due to unforeseen circumstances, with a process for refunding participants in such cases.
