Event Form at Mil Mundos Books
Mil Mundos Books is excited to host events celebrating Black and Latinx speakers, writers, and artists for the Bushwick community and beyond. If you are interested in hosting an event at Mil Mundos Books, please fill out the form below!

Some general information to keep in mind:

 - Event time slots are as follows: 10am to 12pm, 1pm to 3pm, 3:30pm to 5:30pm, 6:30pm to 8pm. Please specify which time slot you would prefer, or note if you feel the event may extend significantly over these time slots.

 - We ask that you provide the exact copy that you would like us to publish when marketing your event on all social media, preferably in both English and Spanish, as well as any/all imagery you feel comfortable with us using in promoting your event. Mil Mundos is collectively run on a volunteer basis; we all either go to school, or have day jobs - there is no ‘marketing team’ at Mil Mundos.

 - We request that anyone presenting an event use a trigger or content warning before presenting emotionally triggering content or materials. An excellent guide to learn more about trigger warnings can be found here: http://libcom.org/blog/trigger-warnings-why-we-use-them-15012012

 - Donations collected during the event are to support Mil Mundos, and help us to offer the space for free for event presenters, unless otherwise previously discussed.

 - Any merch brought to the event will be sold through Mil Mundos on consignment. Please see our consignment policy at bit.ly/mmconsignmentform.

 - Mil Mundos has speakers, a pull-down screen, and a video projector for screenings. In general, we do not provide a device from which to stream video from. Devices can connect to projector hardware via VGA for video and stereo jack for audio. *Sometimes* we have a VGA to MiniDisplay adapter, but not always.

 - Our collective structure is setup so that each of our collective members has their office hours from 10am to 3pm, and 3pm to 8pm, which enables our store to be open consistent hours on a pro-bono basis. This means that while a collective member may have time to ring up books or help put chairs out for an event, they may have a heavy workload of their own for their time at the shop, and do not necessarily have the bandwidth to coordinate an entire event the day of front to back. If your event coordinator is unable to attend the day of the event, let us know ahead of time and we'll see what we can do. :)
