Room(s) available for an individual, couple or family in shared home near UNM . “The Abbey” is an LGBTQ+ friendly, inclusive intentional community of introverts who value intergenerational and interfaith community, creativity, and early bedtimes. All Abbey residents/guests are expected to share in regular household chores, weekly meal prep, and weekly house meetings. All Abbey residents/guests make set monthly financial contributions to help cover housing expenses, including utilities and meals. In addition, all Abbey residents/guests are required to abide by a basic Community Living Agreement, including a process for Dispute Resolution. MONTHLY RENT + WEEKLY CHORE RATE:

Please select the Rent/Chore Rate most appropriate for your situation. Keep in mind that your monthly rent includes food and utilities.

Please Note:

Level 3 represents the "REGULAR RENTAL RATE" or "BASE RATE"

Levels 1 & 2 represent increased rent rate in exchange for reduced household chores.

Levels 4 & 5 represent a discounted rent rate in exchange for increased help with household chores.

The average BASE rental rate for rooms for 1 resident is as follows:

Small Room, shared bath: $750/month

Medium Room, shared bath: $900/month

Large Room, shared bath: $1000/month

Large Room, private bath, outdoor access: $1250/month

For couples/families/roommates sharing a room, please add $50/week (or $200/month) for each additional person (to cover additional grocery, utility, supplies and cleaning expenses).

REGULAR RATE/Level 3: BASE rental rate & up to 3 hours/person/week household help (meal prep, chores, errands, etc.)

REDUCED CHORE RATE/Level 1: BASE rental rate +$200; & up to 1 hours/person/week household help (meal prep, chores, errands, etc.)

REDUCED CHORE RATE/Level 2: BASE rental rate +$100 & up to 2 hours/person/week household help (meal prep, chores, errands, etc.)

DISCOUNTED RENT RATE/Level 4: BASE rental rate minus $100 & up to 4 hours/person/week household help (meal prep, chores, errands, etc.)

DISCOUNTED RENT RATE/Level 5: BASE rental rate minus $200 & up to 5 hours/person/week household help (meal prep, chores, errands, etc.)
