Availability is limited. GitHub, Inc. (“GitHub”) is not able to accommodate every request. A team of GitHubbers will review each application, and tickets will be issued at GitHub’s sole discretion. Applications must be received by 2 pm PST Monday, October 14, 2019. Applicants under the age of 18 are not eligible to participate. If you are selected, we will contact you via email by Friday, October 18th, 2019, and you must confirm your attendance in writing by 3 pm PST Monday, October 21st. Failure to do so may result in having your scholarship rescinded. GitHub will not contact unsuccessful applicants. We will not be covering any additional costs related to your trip to Universe. The scholarship consists solely of the ticket into the conference on November 13-14. Scholarship recipients are responsible for arranging and paying for their own transportation, accommodations, and all other associated expenses. Scholarship tickets do not include the Workshop Day. By submitting any personal information via our Scholarship Application, you agree to the GitHub Terms of Service (
https://help.github.com/articles/github-terms-of-service/). Any personal information you send us shall be subject to our Privacy Statement (
https://help.github.com/articles/github-privacy-statement/). You have read the GitHub Universe Code of Conduct (
http://githubuniverse.com/code-of-conduct/) and agree that you will adhere to it during the conference. The fair market value of the tickets awarded may be reported for tax purposes as required by US law. Each winner must provide GitHub with valid identification, and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any scholarship will be awarded. Any person winning over $600 in prizes from GitHub will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year, and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS. Each winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes. Scholarship tickets are non-transferable. GitHub is not liable for lost, late, misdirected, or inaccurate Scholarship applications. GitHub reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Scholarship with or without notice to you. You agree to release and hold harmless GitHub and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from any and all loss, injury, death or other liability arising from or related to the Scholarship. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of the state of California. By selecting the 'Yes' option, you agree to these terms and conditions.
