ACE Leadership High School Fall 2019 Exhibitions
Hello Community Partners!

You are invited to join us in judging ACE Leadership's Fall 2019 Exhibitions on November 19th, 20th, and 21st!

Judges not only help our students and teachers to gauge the students' level of mastery in a subject area, but they also provide an opportunity to mentor them in improving practices and developing as professionals. Judges will visit student presentations, ask questions, and complete a rubric for the students. Judges are often professionals within the subject field, but other community partners may determine mastery by how successfully a student can teach a person about the subject matter. You are welcome to choose any and all of the projects!

Please indicate on the form below if you are interested in attending any of the exhibitions. We will then follow up with the locations and rubrics of the exhibitions you are interested in. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for a brief orientation about the exhibitions. Thank you!

Architecture of Death (10:30-12:00 PM at ACE Leadership High School)
"How and why do we honor the dead?" In this project, students examine how various cultures honor death around the world, with an emphasis on New Mexico; students then demonstrate this knowledge by designing a monument that incorporates New Mexican traditions.
Helping Hand (10:30-12:00 PM at ACE Leadership High School)
"How is 3D modeling being used to create prosthetics today?" In this project, students investigate the ways in which design and engineer softwares are utilized to construct prosthetics by constructing their model prosthetic, while also learning about the expansive medical prosthetics industry of the past and present.
The Great Food Truck Race (1:30-3:00 PM at ACE Leadership High School)
"How do we create a financially successful food truck?" In this project, students create a fictitious food truck business model that incorporates branding and marketing, financial budgeting, floor plan blueprinting and sustainability.

Tiny Home Village (5:00-6:30 PM at ACE Leadership High School)
"How do Tiny Homes symbolize resilience in relation to homelessness?" In this project, students learn the history of immigration and refugee displacement, contextualized through the 'American Dream', as well as create models of Tiny Homes through 3D modeling and blueprint design.

Bod Mod (10:30-12:00 PM at ACE Leadership High School)
"How do places in which we modify our bodies reflect our culture?" In this project, students decipher how body modifications reflect our culture through the sociological lens of global cultural traditions.
Wired Up (10:30-12:00 PM at ACE Leadership High School)
"How do we move and use electricity safely in buildings?" In this project, students showcase a live, functional electrical installation through their knowledge of safe electrical wiring.
Model That 3.0 (1:30-3:00 PM at ACE Leadership High School)
"How are architectural models influenced by the wants and needs of a client/business?" In this project, students demonstrate their knowledge of various businesses and their needs through the construction of highly catered blueprints and digital/hands-on models.
ACElandia (1:30-3:00 PM at ACE Leadership High School)
"What role does sustainability play in the design of a 'perfect' city?" In this project, students utilize the tools of geometry, world history and architecture to build their version of a perfect, sustainable city.
