Dan Jost Guitar and Vocal Lessons: Lesson Policy
Introduction

Hi and thanks for contacting me about lessons! I’m excited to work with you and help you reach your musical goals. Beginner to advanced levels taught, from ages 12 and up! Here at my home studio in EHT we can work on both guitar or voice, (or both), which includes but is not limited to:

  • proper technique and stamina
  • expanding your range
  • styles
  • developing vibrato
  • songwriting and arranging
  • ear training
  • stage presence
  • chordal and scale theory
  • recording techniques
  • soloing and improvisation
  • chord changes and rhythm playing
  • learning your favorite songs
  • singing and playing guitar at the same time
  • and much more!
Vocal students will have their lessons recorded each week for your convenience and uploaded to your personal Dropbox folder for 24/7 access. You can easily practice and listen to your improvement over time. Guitar students also have their own personal Dropbox folders with lessons, backing tracks, charts, excerpts from songs, and more.

To get started please read my lesson policy and then at the bottom of the page, click the link to sign and agree. A signed copy of this policy is required to enroll.

Lesson Policy

Getting Started
All lessons are one hour in length and are $75. Lessons are available weekly or biweekly for your convenience. Please note: Once you register for a time slot, that lesson time and frequency is reserved for you on an ongoing month to month basis until you give advance notice to make any changes. Any lessons you cancel without 24hr notice are considered a missed lesson.

The monthly tuition is due before a student is added to the calendar. Electronic payments are accepted via Venmo at @DanJost. If it is your first time sending tuition to me with Venmo, it will ask for the last 4 digits of my cell. Please enter 5442. Before clicking pay, please be sure NOT to select “Turn on for purchases”. This will cause Venmo to deduct a fee from the payment. Students will be responsible for any fees.

You can also drop off cash or check tuition in person or leave in my mailbox. Checks should be made out to Main Stage Entertainment LLC.

Monthly Tuition
All lessons are paid in advance at the beginning of the month with a monthly tuition payment. If you know you will miss a lesson in advance, simply subtract that from the tuition payment. Schedule permitting, we can always try and reschedule these classes to stay on track. The monthly tuition is non refundable. Please see cancellation policy for details.

24 Hour Cancellation Policy
I have a simple 24hr cancellation policy and issue makeup lessons only. There are no credits or refunds issued for any classes you cancel that have already been paid for. On the rare instance that I cancel a class that has already been paid for, a makeup lesson will be offered, and if unable to be scheduled due to scheduling conflicts, a credit will be issued. Makeup lessons cannot be scheduled on your normal lesson time and must be redeemed within 12 months. If 24hr notice is not given by the student there will be no makeup lesson offered and it will be considered a forfeited lesson.

Gift Certificates
Gift certificates expire 12 months after date you receive it via email and are scheduled based on availability of all parties involved. There are no refunds, transfers, or exchanges. All sales final.

What To Bring
If you are taking vocal lessons please bring a blank notebook to each session. If you’re taking guitar lessons please purchase the book linked below. A small portion of the sale will help support my website. Thank you!

Your Commitment
Due to limited availability, I am a better fitting teacher for students who can commit to lessons month to month, not week to week. Once your tuition is paid you are committing to attend those lessons for the month, or make up any lesson you missed with 24hr notice. If you are unsure of your ability to commit to the lessons you scheduled, I’d kindly request you reach back out when you are comfortable with that scenario and sign up at a later date.

* Please do not come to your lesson if you feel sick. I teach in my home and have 2 small children. I reserve the right to refuse teaching anyone who appears to be visibly sick or contagious. Coughing, sneezing, sore throat, runny nose, etc. If in doubt, call out!

No Waiting Room
Lessons are taught in my home studio. There is no waiting room. Parents may sit in on the first lesson if they like, after that, students are to be dropped off and picked up when the lesson ends.  Please text me when you arrive each week at 609-225-4690 and kindly do not knock on the front door or ring the doorbell. The address is 102 Sandlewood Rd in EHT.

Thanks and I look forward to working with you!
Dan
