APPETITE FOOD FESTIVAL

As part of a free weekend programme of music, theatre, dance, arts, crafts and food drawing 35.000 festival goers over two days, Auntie Maureen together with www.barbican.org.uk and London Borough of Waltham Forest, is hosting the Appetite food market for it's 7th year running.

This is the Expression of Interest form for small, independent, artisanal table-top based food businesses who propose to trade sustainably at the Appetite Food Market in the Fellowship Island area of the Walthamstow Garden Party,  This food area is complimentary to but separate from the street food offer of the Real Food Festival.  

PLEASE NOTE THE NOT-SO-SMALL PRINT:
- All applications need to be accompanied by scans/photographs of
- All applications need to be accompanied by a Health & Safety risk assessment.  Template included.
- You are expected to trade by the terms & conditions of the Appetite market operator Auntie Maureen who is your authority on food trade as well as on other festival partner terms & conditions, as laid out contractually by both the food market curator and all relevant festival partners.  This includes all festival procedures, sustainable events production requirements plus health & safety stipulations set out in advance by all events partners.  Non-compliance will result in cancellation of your stall without refund.  This includes on the dates of the event if food hygiene inspectors of the Event Health & Safety team find you are not trading in compliance with food hygiene rules and regulations.

Once your business is accepted all stall hire fees as well as a £10 Keep It Free contribution (to go to keeping the weekend programmed and free of entrance costs to festival goers) have to be paid and documents submitted by the stated deadlines in order to qualify for the tiered fee structure below.  Only submissions of documents & timely payment confirm your pitch at this year's Appetite Food Market.

1) Early Bird £130 + £5 Keep It Free Weekend rate only
- ALL documents & Payment due in full by midnight Friday 01.05.20

2a) Early Bird Weekend rate £150 + £10 Keep It Free
- ALL documents & payment due by midnight Friday 14.06.19
2b) Early Bird Single Day rate £80 + £5 Keep It Free
- ALL documents & payment due by midnight Friday 14.06.19

3a) Late Bird weekend £190 + £5 Keep It Free
- ALL documents & payment due within 3 working days from offer of a stall.  
3b) Single day £100 + £5 Keep It Free
- ALL documents & payment due within 3 working days from offer of a stall.

All registrations have to be completed by midnight Monday 01.07.19

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Food traders and sellers can be part of the Appetite food market if meeting these THINK GREEN criteria:
- All single use plastics and non-compostable disposables are banned.  This includes bottles, sample cups, cutlery, carrier bags or polystyrene food containers.
- Please reduce use of plastics in business use (i.e. table cloths, displays, signage etc.) and replace with non-plastic, sustainable alternatives, compostable, recycled or reused plastics.
- ALL food that is served and packaged in the Appetite Food Market has to be sold in certified compostable containers.
- Please replace paper napkins with recycled paper and compostable types.
- Find ways to reduce food waste by organising a leftover food collection from the festival site on both days for food banks or other initiatives collectively, with other food traders, via the event Organiser.  
- Show evidence of environmentally sustainable business practises or the use of organic ingredients if appropriate.
- Residents or registered businesses in Waltham Forest are considered first, followed by North/East London food makers/sellers, then further afield.
- Proven track record of trade or stocking products at markets, fairs or shops in the last 12 months.
- Compliant with food hygiene certification Level 2.
- Registered Food Business with local authority: compliant kitchen registered & inspected with Food Hygiene Rating and/or door rating OR an email confirmation that you have registered with your local authority and an inspection is forthcoming.
- Bring your own (Teal) hand washing basin.
- Liability insured to value of £5m employers liability and £2m public liability.
- Fresh produce, plants, pre-packed boxed take-away snacks, or beverages, sweets, treats, plants, organic beauty welcome.
- When selling packaged/bottled/jarred food products and food-inspired wares (food-inspired designs, art, etc.)please no glass bottles or jars unless presented and packaged as small gift items.  Please discuss with the event organiser first.
- Food related services, food growing businesses as well as food-related products are also welcome.
- Sorry, no alcohol traders plus no vehicles nor cooking/heating/BBQs inside the Appetite food market.
- All electrical appliances need to be approved as well as up-to-date PAT tested and stickered accordingly.
