Denton, NC Watermelon Pageant Application
This year the Denton, NC Watermelon Pageant will take place on August 6, 2022 at 9am at Denton Wesleyan Church, Crowing will be at 2pm at Harrison Park.
Please complete the application, follow the link to pay the entry fee and start collecting those "Good Luck Seeds" All funds received for the "Good Luck Seeds" will benefit the South Davidson Resource Center. Checks should be made directly to them.
This is a natural beauty, service pageant. The winners will be doing community projects throughout the year.

Please note, this will be August and the pageant is held outside.
Pageant Rules and Information
•Entry Fee: $25 (non-refundable)
•Check payable to: Town of Denton
Mail with Pageant Application to: Town of Denton, PO Box 306, Denton NC 27239
or submit in person to: Denton Town Hall, 201 W Salisbury St., Denton (cash, check or card)
•DEADLINE: Pageant entries must be postmarked or turned in by Monday July 25, 2022.
•Phases of competition will include:
Casual Wear: Watermelon outfit themed or colored, can be off the rack or handmade. (There will be an award for best Casual Wear in each division.)
Community Service Project – “Good Luck Seeds”: Contestants will collect “Good Luck Seeds” for $1.00 each or nonperishable food item. The contestant that collects the most Wishes/Seeds will be crowned our Watermelon Ambassador. Items/monies must be turned in at the mandatory meeting on August 5, 2022. Nonperishables and monetary donations will be benefit the the South Davidson Resource Center. Checks should be made directly to them. Make sure to ask your family and friends to help you support a great cause!
•Mandatory pageant meeting will be Friday, August 5, 2022, at 6:00pm at Harrison Park to go over the schedule
for the pageant. Girls will receive Denton Watermelon Festival t-shirt at this time. Bring all collected Community Service Project Seeds/Non-perishable food items to this meeting. All collected items must be turned in at this meeting to receive credit towards the Ambassador Title.
•Pageant will begin promptly at 9:00am. This year the Pageant will be held at the Denton Wesleyan Church 16345
NC-109, Denton, NC 27239 in their outdoor pavilion. Crowning will be at 2pm at Harrison Park Pavilion.
•Awards: Crowns will be awarded to the winners of each category. A Director’s Choice Award and the Sunshine Award is for the one who refers the most contestants to the pageant.
•*Boys Age Division will depend on the number of Male contestants.
•Crowned Royalty must make every effort to be available to represent their title at local scheduled events
throughout the year. For example; Miss Denton Pageant, Denton Street Festival, Denton Christmas Parade,
Lexington Christmas Parade, Southeast Old Threshers Reunion Queen Pageant. In addition to these events
there will be community service events to attend, such as meeting with Town civic leaders, visiting with
residents at Mountain Vista Health Park, volunteering at Veterans Day event, activities of South Davidson
Family Resource Center, Project Santa, etc. Other events may be added to your reign as Watermelon Festival
Royalty.
•Contestants must be a resident of North Carolina
